HERE’S WHAT’S POSSIBLE  For You

POTENTIAL

PURPOSE

PROFIT

PROGRESS

PEACE OF MIND

You’re in business to make money, but you need a plan that works.

Every retailer knows the challenges that come with running a retail business, whether you’re opening a new store or have been in business for years—whether you’re profitable or barely getting by.

Retailers today have to contend with supply chain issues, staffing problems, and price increases, unlike any other time in recent history.

This is a pivotal time in our industry. To ensure success, independent specialty retailers must learn to make highly intentional inventory, marketing, and staffing decisions.

Everything comes down to time and money, and how you leverage both.

Imagine…

  • You’re making a good living and have plenty of time to enjoy it.
  • Your store is generating more than enough revenue to reward your staff for a job well done.
  • Your systems are so dialed in that you can step away at any time.
  • Making data-driven inventory decisions so that your shelves are stocked with the right products at the right time in the right quantities year-round.
  • You have a steady stream of happy customers who come back again and again.
  • You’re a successful retailer, satisfied with your results, and excited for the future.
  • You’re living a good life, enjoying quality time with your family.

HERE’S HOW I MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR

Time and Money

Improvement, progress and growth are yours for the taking.

  • You have a vision for your business in your heart that keeps you up at night.
  • You’ve set your sights on doubling your sales volume or hitting that coveted 7 figure mark.
  • You’re motivated to make it happen, you’re willing to do what it takes, and you want to have fun in the process.
  • To you, your business is more than just a way to make money. It’s also how you make an impact and build a legacy.
  • Getting to the next level is just what you’re gonna do.

You’ve laid it all on the line. You went all in and opened your doors.

There’s just one problem, maybe more…

  • While you’ve seen some success, it’s been hit or miss.
  • And when you hit your sales numbers, they don’t add enough to your bottom line.
  • You’re not getting enough traffic and your marketing efforts are falling flat.
  • Perhaps you’re dipping into reserves to keep the doors open and the debt starting to mount up.
  • You feel alone carrying this load and there’s no one to help you figure it out.
  • You’re starting to wonder if keeping your store open is a mistake.

Deep down, you know you’re meant for so much more. And you are.

You need a sustainable plan that supports the success of your retail business and you as its leader.

You need a clear strategy that…

Gets people through the doors and keeps them coming back

Serves your customers with excellence

Optimizes inventory and minimizes markdowns

Leverages people power

Maximizes your revenue and leads to profitability

Allows you create your own economy

What will be possible for you when business is good, life is good, and you have peace of mind?

What every retail business needs to thrive

No. 1

CLARITY

Clarity comes from staying in touch with the heart of your business, including the reason you opened your store, how you want to work in and on the business, defining a clear vision for the future, and potentially including an exit plan.  The key here is to analyze what’s working, what’s not working, and the ideal opportunities to pursue.

No. 2

STRATEGY

To ensure success, you must develop a plan to get people through the door and keep them coming back. That means serving your customers by having the ideal inventory at the right time, creating a strong store culture, and developing a plan to deliver an enjoyable shopping experience, all the while maximizing revenue that leads to increased long-term profitability.

No. 3

PERFORMANCE

With your clear strategy in hand, it’s time to implement and execute to get the information you need to measure results and track progress. Only then can you make the informed decisions to move the needle in your business.

This is the difference between being bombarded with growth-stopping problems and enjoying the peace of mind that comes from implementing simple systems that work.

No. 4

MINDSET

Your business can only go as far as you can take it. Too many business owners blame lackluster results on external factors like staff, the economy, or the weather. However, their biggest problems are often due to mindset blocks preventing them from growing their business. Leading effectively rests in your belief in yourself along with your willingness to do what it takes to achieve your goals.

What Retailers Must Do to Succeed in Business

Focus on implementing a strategy for long-term business growth and sustainability.

Implement an inventory management plan that includes purchasing and pricing strategies to sell merchandise for the highest possible price in the shortest amount of time.

Build and nurture relationships with staff and vendors to get the support they need.

Create shopping experiences that make the customer feel valued and appreciated and that will lead to positive reviews.

Collect and use the data to gain insights and make well-informed and strategic decisions to drive sales and increase cash flow and the store’s profits.

Maintain a firm understanding of their store’s current cash position as well as the future cash demands on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

What Most Retailers Actually Do

Keep themselves busy with the day-to-day activities of running their store.

Buy merchandise that doesn’t sell or undersell and let the inventory that doesn’t sell just sit on the shelf hoping “it will sell eventually …”

Underestimating the value of employee and vendor relationships can lead to drops in morale and eventual turnover.

Lose touch with the customer experience and neglect putting systems in place to ensure high-quality customer service.

Don’t inspect the data deeply enough and rely on vendor rhetoric and emotions to make inventory decisions that can stall sales and decrease profits.

Have an in-the-moment understanding of their cash position by keeping an eye on the checking account balance or glancing at the monthly P&L, all the while overlooking the bigger picture of the solvency of their business
